The Vegas Golden Knights will embark on a four-game road trip before the NHL All-Star Weekend and after their Saturday matchup against the Washington Capitals. In their four games against the Coyotes, Devils, Rangers, and Islanders, they could potentially welcome back three injured players to their lineup.
Head coach Bruce Cassidy stated Friday that both Brett Howden and Shea Theodore would be traveling with the team on their upcoming trip and also that Zach Whitecloud might join them. All three players are dealing with lower-body injuries. Howden has been out since Nov. 25, Whitecloud since Dec. 11, and Theodore since Dec. 12. Cassidy also stated that forwards William Carrier and Mark Stone would not travel.
Bringing back Howden would likely move either Jonas Rondbjerg or Byron Froese back down to the Henderson Silver Knights. The same goes with both Shea Theodore and Zach Whitecloud likely occupying the spots of Kaedan Korczak and Ben Hutton.
No players are expected to return for the Golden Knights for their next game against the Capitals. Cassidy made a minor swap with the line combinations in practice Friday by switching Phil Kessel to the third line in favor of Michael Amadio.
Stone, Carrier, Howden, Theodore, Whitecloud, Pavel Dorofeyev, and Daniil Miromanov are all injured for the Golden Knights currently.
Note: These projected lines are highly speculative and could change, given that all three players may not return at the same time.
