Vegas Golden Knights depth goaltender Michael Hutchinson will join Team Canada's roster in the upcoming Spengler Cup in Davos, Switzerland. Henderson Silver Knights general manager Tim Speltz confirmed Hutchinson's roster spot on Thursday.

The 32-year-old goaltender signed with the Golden Knights this offseason for additional goalie depth. Hutchinson has had a strong NHL career with several different NHL/AHL organizations. Hutchinson is 1-4-2 with the Henderson Silver Knights this season and has a 2.68 goals-against average and a .899% save percentage.

Hutchinson is one of three goaltenders on the current Silver Knights roster with Jiri Patera and Laurent Brossoit being the others.

The Spengler Cup is an annual hockey tournament in Davos, Switzerland, played from Dec. 26 to Dec. 31. This is the first time the tournament has been held since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Team Canada's first game is on Dec. 26 at 11:15 a.m.
