With injuries to four different players and Alex Pietrangelo out due to personal reasons, the Vegas Golden Knights have recalled three players from the Henderson Silver Knights. Forward Jonas Rondbjerg and defensemen Brayden Pachal and Kaedan Korczak have been recalled.

The Golden Knights are missing Jack Eichel, Brett Howden, Shea Theodore, and Zach Whitecloud all to lower-body injuries.

All three players recalled have NHL experience. Rondbjerg is the only member of the trio who has played this season, suiting up in a Dec. 7 game against the New York Rangers. A 2017 third-round pick, the 23-year old has six points in 31 games of NHL experience.

Captain of the Silver Knights, Brayden Pachal played two games for the Golden Knights last season. The undrafted 23-year old has seven points in 25 games in the American Hockey League this season.

Despite a complete defense at the time, Kaedan Korczak survived until the last batch of training camp cuts for the VGK. The 21-year old is a 2019 fourth-round pick of the Golden Knights and has six points in 24 games with the HSK this season.

The Golden Knights are currently without three of their right-shot defensemen in Pietrangelo, Theodore, and Whitecloud. Both Pachal and Korczak shoot right.

"We'll have to live with their growing pains, so to speak. It's our job to coach them up… I haven't seen them play since they left training camp. We'll get them in and get them ready an hopefully put them in a good position to succeed. When you're that young in the back end, the compensation has to come from the forward group. That's an older group. They have to manage pucks better and not stress out D in different ways,” said head coach Bruce Cassidy.

Rondbjerg, Pachal, and Korczak join Daniil Miromanov, Paul Cotter, Jake Leschyshyn, and Logan Thompson as former Silver Knights now in the NHL.

“The next guy has to go in and he's got to be ready. It's an opportunity. That's how guys forge careers for themselves. Sometimes they can be extra minutes the guys that are already here, and then the guys that that aren't here come up that can establish himself and push for a regular job,” added Cassidy.
