Golden Knights Roundup: Mark Stone, Zach Whitecloud IN For Game 1

It's official- Vegas Golden Knights forward Mark Stone will play in game one of the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Winnipeg Jets. Additionally, Zach Whitecloud will make his return from a two-game leg injury that he sustained late in the season.

Stone has been out since mid-Janurary with another back injury for the Golden Knights. For the second time in nine months, he had back surgery in late Janurary which took him out of the lineup for the rest of the regular season.

Stone, who scored 38 points in the 43 games he did play this year, will return to play on a line with Chandler Stephenson and Michael Amadio. This line had some great chemistry in the earlier months to the season when they were all together pre-injury.

Stay tuned for a full breakdown of Stone's press conference he has this morning at City National Arena. For now, the big news is that Stone is playing!

As for other roster news, Cassidy did not state who would backup Laurent Brososit for Game One. Jonathan Quick and Adin Hill, who is coming back from injury, are the options here. Logan Thompson and Will Carrier remain out.

One more thing, with the Henderson Silver Knight's season coming to an end, it's likely that we see some of the HSK players come up and practice with the main squad. Kaedan Korczak, Jonas Rondbjerg, Byron Froese, and Sheldon Rempal are the likely candidates to do so.
