In a bit of a change of pace, we're doing our first-ever Twitter Q and A session regarding the Vegas Golden Knights.
Let's get started.
The Goalie Guide @TheGoalieGuide:
How do you see (Jonathan) Quick fitting in down the stretch?
Welp, right now I see him as the team's backup until either Laurent Brossoit or Logan Thompson gets healthy, which might take a while. If I were to guess, I would expect Thompson to be back before Brossoit, which will then leave the VGK with another "three NHL goaltender" problem.
I still don't understand the Quick acquisition as now you have this problem enhanced when Thompson comes back. You're not going to send Quick to the AHL, after all, he has been through, and based on their play, you really can't send Thompson or Hill down either, can you?
For now, it's just about rotating the goalies that are healthy and hoping for the best.
Gary Adrian @garyadrian:
I always have wanted to know why they just pronounce injuries as either lower-body or upper-body and not something like a knee injury or a shoulder tear so that you can better understand how long somebody might be out instead of just week-to-week or day-to-day.
To answer your question in short, I do not know why this is so. But I have my theories.
1) It has always been like this, so why change? Coaches, general managers, and the players themselves are used to having that extra layer of secrecy in regard to their injuries. For instance, we only knew Mark Stone's injury to be to his "upper body" for the longest time before we knew it was his back again.
2) With some of these injuries, I don't even think the medical staff and players truly know what they are dealing with immediately. If Will Carrier leaves the game because something in his leg hurts, the only thing Bruce Cassidy knows is that he is out a player and that it was due to his "lower body."
Cassidy, who is almost always the bearer of injury news, isn't going to come to the podium with a full diagnosis as that's not his job.
For something like Ryan O'Reilly's recent finger injury, it's easy to point out where the injury is. But there are so many muscles and ligaments in both the arms and legs, (two things that hockey players use extensively), that I think it is just easier to say "lower body" or "upper body,", especially after games.
3) Finally, I think hockey is not covered in the same way that other sports are. For me, at least, I take the coaches' or the teams' word on injuries and leave it at that. But then you'll have football games where the entire conversation is centered around Patrick Mahomes' ankle and it's health.

I've heard Phil (Kessel) described as being one of the main chirpers this season, giving Marchy (Jonathan Marchessault) a run for his money. Does that ring true? Does Phil get in on the pranks too?
Going to say that this rings false. Phil Kessel isn't much of a chirper, rather he's just a naturally funny person. I would actually go as far as to say that Phil is on the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of trash-talking and pranks, as everyone is doing them to him. Just look at Logan Thompson's Instagram.
Kessel isn't the one to go out of his way to pull off a prank, he's the one who gets pranked. But he handles it like a champ and reacts to them in hilarious ways. Marchessault, Alec Martinez, Logan Thompson, and Paul Cotter, are the biggest trash talkers/pranksters on the team.

What’s the go-to postgame food situation in the locker room? I know some teams do pizzas, a DIY burrito station, etc. what does this group do?
Unless they clean it up really fast and then Febreze the room to get rid of the smell, they don't eat in the locker room itself as far as I have noticed. They have their own separate eating areas which I have never been to. I will say though, this team loves its BioSteel.

Could you give an update on Brendon Brisson?… I see what he’s doing stat wise but, how’s he progressing and, of course, the big question… when?
I haven't been to any of Silver Knight's games this season but the general word around Brendan Brisson is that he is not living up to expectations. When? Right now it doesn't look like it's coming anytime soon. His game it too one-dimensional right now. 2024 NHL Trade Deadline candidate?

Can someone explain the Elvis wig deal in the locker room? Who has to wear it and when? That will definitely be something new for Jonathan (Quick).
From what Jack Eichel told us, my understanding is that the Elvis Wig and sunglasses work as the locker room player of the game. Most teams do this, where they pick a player who performed well, give them the headwear, and then the next game, that player has to pick the next recipient.
Thanks, everyone for replying, if I didn't answer your questions I either ran out of time or didn't have a good answer.
