The NHL Trade Deadline not only marks the literal trade deadline but coincides with the date on which general managers can sign players to entry-level contracts for the 2022-24 season and beyond. The Vegas Golden Knights have signed defenseman Christoffer Sedoff to a three-year entry-level contract worth $870,000 AAV.

Sedoff is an undrafted 21-year-old Finish left-handed defenseman who stands at 6-foot-1 and is 198 pounds. He is currently playing with the Red Deer Rebels of the WHL. There, he has 4 goals, 41 assists, and 45 points in 53 points and is an alternate captain on the team.

In 2021-22 Sedoff was named to the WHL's Central First All-Star Team as he was seventh in defensive scoring with 61 points in 65 games with Red Deer. Prior to his time in the WHL, Sedoff played overseas with HIFK, FPS, and SaiPa in Finland.

"He was brought to us by our amateur scouting staff and our free agent scouting staff. We think he has really good potential to be a pro. It is not unlike Dylan Coghlan, who was a free-agent defenseman that we signed, and Brayden Pachal, Zach Whitecloud, and Daniil Miromanov, all free-agent defensemen," said general manager Kelly McCrimmon.

The Golden Knight's signing of Sedoff marks the fifth move the team has made this week in preparation for the NHL Trade Deadline.
