The Vegas Golden Knights will play game two of their four-game homestand before Christmas against the Buffalo Sabres. The team welcomed Alex Pietrangelo back into the lineup with open arms after he missed nine games due to an extremely unfortunate and scary incident regarding his four-year-old daughter.

Elsewhere the NHL roster freeze and the 2023 World Junior Championship are starting soon, both of which have an impact on the Golden Knights.

Vegas Golden Knights

T-Mobile: The Golden Knights continue to lose games at home, and nobody seems to know why.

Vegas: Alex Pietrangelo detailed why he took a leave of absence from the Golden Knights for nine games.

Canada: Four Golden Knights prospects will be in action at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship.

NHL: The NHL roster freeze will be put in effect at noon today, meaning no trades or roster transactions until Dec. 28. For the Golden Knights, this means Jonas Rondbjerg is staying up with the team for a bit.

Guys like Brayden Pachal and Kaedan Korczak can't be recalled if needed, and no players on injured reserve can be moved. The Golden Knights currently have Jack Eichel, Brett Howden (LTIR), and Shea Theodore all on IR who are eligible to return.

For them to play tonight against the Buffalo Sabres, they would have to be removed from IR before noon today. The VGK practice at 10:30 a.m. this morning.

Carolina: Logan Thompson has emerged as a rookie goaltender of the year favorite, but don't forget about Pyotr Kochetkov.

Clip of the Day: Good tilt here.
