Happy Christmas Eve, everyone. Everything is going to be okay.

Without getting into too much detail, I have been going through a rough mental health patch these last few days.

I was, unfortunately, unable to go home and see my family for Christmas this year. Winter storms canceled both of my flights. My mother says it is -4 degrees back home in Pennsylvania. I miss my family, and this isn't an easy time of year.

Now onto today's news.

Vegas Golden Knights

It was quite an eventful shootout win over St. Louis for the Vegas Golden Knights. Hope Jonathan Marchessault is okay; he's one of the best guys to talk to in the locker room.

Max Pacioretty played the ice cream man in the Carolina Hurricanes' most recent game.

Henderson Silver Knights goaltender Michael Hutchinson will play for Team Canada at the Spengler Cup.

Do the Vegas Golden Knights have enough to acquire Bo Horvat from the Vancouver Canucks?

NHL News and National Hockey Now

Washington: Thoughts and prayers are with John Carlson, who took a puck to the face. He has been discharged from the hospital.

And congrats to Alexander Ovechkin for officially becoming the NHL's second-leading goal scorer, passing the great Gordie Howe!

Florida: Matthew Tkachuk has called the Florida Panthers out after another lackluster loss.

Pittsburgh: An interesting fan poll from Pittsburgh Hockey Now. Pittsburgh Penguins fans sound off on MVPs, likely to be traded, most disappointg, favorite new guy and more. Perhaps we should try something similar here.

Boston: Nick Foligno has become a weapon for the Boston Bruins on their third line.

San Jose: Mason Shaw of the Minnesota Wild has been suspended two games for his hit on Evgeny Svechnikov.

Colorado: Alexander Georgiev has been named the NHL's second star of the week.

NYI: If there is any team that needs the Holiday break, it's the New York Islanders
