Daily Nuggets: Golden Knights Can’t Score, Matthews Injured, and Maple Leafs Trade Talk

The Vegas Golden Knights will play their final game before the 2023 NHL All-Star Break/Bye Week this afternoon against the New York Islanders at 4:30 p.m. The VGK are looking to gain some sort of traction as they have lost six of their last seven games, all of which have come without captain Mark Stone.

MSG: The Golden Knights dropped their sixth game out of their last seven in a 4-1 loss to the New York Rangers Friday night.

NYC: The star players didn't show up again, and the cold streaks to guys like Jack Eichel and Chandler Stephenson aren't helping the VGK.

Pacific: With the Golden Knights slumping, both the Seattle Kraken and Los Angeles Kings have passed them in the Pacific Division Standings.

The Problem: With Mark Stone out of the lineup, the Golden Knights are in limbo, both on and off the ice. 

Injury Updates: On a more positive note, both Shea Theodore and Will Carrier returned to the Golden Knights lineup from injury.

Trade Talk: As we approach the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline, could the Golden Knights go after Ryan O'Reilly? Bo Horvat? James van Riemsdyk?
