Vegas Golden Knights game, William Karlsson celebrates win over Minnesota Wild

The Vegas Golden Knights will look to snap a season-long four-game losing streak tonight against the St. Louis Blues. Elliotte Friedman mentioned the Golden Knights in his written 32 Thoughts blog, but not for the right reasons. Elsewhere in the Daily Nuggets, specific teams have been given permission to talk to JT Miller, and the New Jersey Devils lost goaltender Jacob Markstrom to a lower-body injury.

Golden Knights News

Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy called William Karlssonโ€™s absence from Tuesdayโ€™s practice a maintenance day. However, Sportsnetโ€™s Elliotte Friedman reports that a lingering injury could cause Karlsson to miss the 4 Nations Face-Off in February.

The Golden Knights partnered with Zappos.com for a shoe drive, and itโ€™s underway. You can donate new or gently used shoes at the teamโ€™s practice facility until Wednesday, January 29th.

The Golden Knights have lost four in a row, but the team is optimistic. Read about it here.

AFP Analytics projected what an Adin Hill extension could look like. Iโ€™ll have a piece on that in about an hour.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now

New Jersey Hockey Now: Goaltender Jacob Markstrom left yesterdayโ€™s game against the Boston Bruins following an awkward collision with Justin Brazeau. Heโ€™ll miss some time.

Sportsnet: Elliotte Friedman reports that the Carolina Hurricanes and the New York Rangers have permission to talk to Vancouver Canucks center JT Miller.

Ottawa Hockey Now: The Ottawa Senators are fighting for a playoff spot, but Captain Brady Tkachuk has gone cold.

The Vancouver Canucks and the Edmonton Oilers meet again tonight sans Connor McDavid and Tyler Myers. Itโ€™s only January, but the Canucks are one point out of the playoffs. Theyโ€™re desperate to turn their season around, and both teams will be fueled by the events that took place at the end of Saturday nightโ€™s game.
