After leaving Thursday night's game against the Minnesota Wild, Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Logan Thompson is now listed as week-to-week with a lower-body injury. As a result, Laurent Brossoit has been recalled from the Henderson Silver Knights.
Thompson's injury was sustained in his last game with the Golden Knights already up 5-1 in the third period. The Wild pressured, and Thompson was forced to make a few sprawling saves, moving back and forth. It appears as if Thompson pulled something in his left leg while keeping the puck out of the net.

In his first year as a true starter in the NHL, Thompson has thrived. In 35 games played, he has a .914 save percentage and 2.66 GAA. He was named to the 2023 NHL All-Star Game and is in the conversation for the Calder Trophy, which is awarded to the NHL's top rookie of the year.
"He’s been the backbone of our group all year. He’s done a lot of heavy lifting and made a lot of big saves. It’s really hard to see him go down. Hopefully, he’s OK, and it’s nothing serious," said Golden Knights forward Jack Eichel.
Brossoit, who came off off-season hip surgery, has spent this season recovering with the Silver Knights in the AHL. So far he has played in 23 games with the HSK, posting a 2.72 GAA and .909 save percentage along with two shutouts. He has over 100 games of experience at the NHL level.
"He played some good hockey down in Henderson, and he's played in the league. So he's not a newbie. It's just a matter of finding the right amount of stars for him while LT is out, and we don't know how long that will be," said head coach Bruce Cassidy.
The Golden Knights are currently missing Daniil Miromanov, and captain Mark Stone to injuries and also have Nolan Patrick, Robin Lehner, and Shea Weber out for the season.
The Golden Knights play three games next week, all at home, starting with the Anaheim Ducks on Super Bowl Sunday at 12:00 p.m. The tandem of Adin Hill and Brossoit will likely face these next stretch of games.
