Three Takeaways From the Golden Knights’ 4-2 Victory in Utah
Here are three takeaways from the Golden Knights’ 4-2 victory in Utah Friday night.
On Friday night, the Vegas Golden Knights defeated Utah 4-2 in Salt Lake City. Here are three takeaways from the game.
Karlsson Comes Up Clutch
With Vegas and Utah tied at two late in the third period, the Golden Knights needed a hero. They got one in William Karlsson.
Karlsson scored the go-ahead goal with 1:18 left in regulation to give Vegas their first lead of the night. 49 seconds later, he sealed it with an empty net tally, giving the Golden Knights a 4-2 victory.
It had been a relatively slow start to the season for Karlsson, as he had just two goals heading into the night, and had gone three consecutive games without recording a point. With the game in the balance, however, the Original Misfit stepped up big time.
Power Hertl
It was a big night for Tomas Hertl. The Czech forward scored Vegas’s first two goals, both of which came on the power play.
The Golden Knights’ man advantage continues to enjoy a red hot start to the season. Vegas has now scored at least one power play goal in five consecutive games.
Good Luck Dads
With the victory, the Golden Knights closed out their 2024-2025 Fathers Trip with a perfect 2-0-0 record. Remarkably, Vegas is now 11-0-1 all time in Father Trip games.
Perhaps the dads should start coming to every game from here on out.
Up Next
Up next, the Golden Knights return home to take on the Washington Capitals on Sunday. Puck drop is set for 5:00 PM PST/8:00 PM EST.
