Golden Knights Dorofeyev Named NHL’s First Star of the Week
On Monday, the NHL’s Public Relations team announced the three stars for the first week of the 2025-26 season. Leading the way was Vegas Golden Knights winger Pavel Dorofeyev.
Dorofeyev leads the league in goals with five through his first three games of the season. He also leads the league in power play markers; four of those goals have come on the man advantage. He’s currently tied for 7th in the league in scoring.
Although he missed nearly all of the preseason due to an injury, Dorofeyev started hot right off the gate. He scored a second-period hat trick in his first game of the season against the Los Angeles Kings. The next day, he followed up that performance with a power play goal against the San Jose Sharks. And on Saturday, he scored the game-tying goal against the Seattle Kraken that eventually sent his team to overtime.
Dorofeyev, a third-round pick in 2019, is in his fourth NHL season. Last year, he recorded his first 35-goal campaign to lead the team in goals. Seven of his 35 goals came on the power play, and seven were game-winners.
At 24, Dorofeyev seems primed to take the next step for the Golden Knights. He has 60 goals and 90 points through his first 152 NHL games.
The other two stars of the week were Ottawa Senators forward Shane Pinto (four goals, five points in two games played) and Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky (3-0-0 record, .925 SV%).
