The Vegas Golden Knights officially submitted their roster for the 2025-26 season. Their roster includes 13 forwards, seven (technically eight) defensemen, and two goaltenders. As there were no real camp battles, the roster contains no earth-shattering surprises. There is, however, an answer to the 13th forward question.

The Golden Knights begin the season on Wednesday at home against the Los Angeles Kings.

As expected, the Golden Knights declared Alex Pietrangelo out for the entire season and playoffs. They are now eligible for full cap relief of Pietrangelo’s $8.8 million.

Cole Reinhardt, the freshly signed dark horse candidate, appears to have won the 13th forward battle. He beat out incumbents Cole Schwindt and Jonas Røndbjerg, and the Golden Knights lost Schwindt on waivers.

*On Sunday, the Golden Knights signed defenseman Jeremy Davies to a two-year, $3.3 million contract. He’s listed on their Opening Night roster, but it’s only to optimize LTIR capture. With Davies signed for $1.15 million, the Golden Knights are $8.776 million over the cap – $24,000 under the maximum possible with Pietrangelo on Season-Ending LTIR.

Davies, 28, played two preseason games, but hasn’t skated with the NHL team since 9/25/2025. He will likely be officially waived and sent down today or tomorrow.
