Golden Knights Re-Sign Three Restricted Free Agent Forwards

On Sunday, the Vegas Golden Knights announced that they’d signed Restricted Free Agent forwards Raphaël Lavoie, Jonas Røndbjerg, and Cole Schwindt to one-year contracts.
Lavoie and Røndbjerg’s one-year contracts are both worth $775,000. Schwindt’s one-year contract is worth $825,000.
Raphaël Lavoie, 24, played nine games with the Golden Knights last season and has played 16 total NHL games. He spent most of the season in Henderson, where he led the Silver Knights in scoring with 17 goals. He also provided 10 assists for a total of 27 points in 42 games.
Jonas Røndbjerg, 26, played 13 games with the Golden Knights last season. He has recorded three goals and seven assists in 76 career NHL games. He wore an ‘A’ last season for the Henderson Silver Knights and recorded 11 goals and 26 points in 53 games.
Internationally, Røndbjerg represented Denmark at the IIHF Hockey World Championship in May and helped his team knock off Team Canada in the quarter-finals. In June, he was one of the preliminary players named to Denmark’s Olympic squad.
Cole Schwindt, 24, skated in 42 games with the Golden Knights last year and has played 49 total NHL games. He recorded his first NHL point against the St. Louis Blues in his Golden Knights debut on October 11th. Schwindt scored his first goal against the Vancouver Canucks in the last game of the regular season.
After acquiring Colton Sissons in the Nic Hague trade, there’s no guarantee that Lavoie, Røndbjerg, or Schwindt will see NHL ice time. Instead, they’ll likely fight to be the 13th forward in case of injuries.
