Good morning, folks. The Vegas Golden Knights are officially a destination team. Everyone wants to come to Vegas, and it’s obvious why. No, it’s not because they want to see Penn & Teller or live in the casino capital of the world. Players want to win, and that’s exactly what the Golden Knights do.

Elsewhere in the Daily Nuggets, five goalie-desperate teams tried to coax Marc-André Fleury out of retirement. The Florida Panthers identified and signed their next reclamation project. Eleven RFAs filed for arbitration, and the Toronto Maple Leafs circle Calgary Flames center Nazem Kadri.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in Vegas thus far. The food is excellent, the people are nice, and the city never sleeps. And, of course, the Pinball Hall of Fame remains unbeaten. I’ve been twice in the past four days, and thoroughly enjoy sinking obscene amounts of money into the Stargate machine.

I’d like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all of you for welcoming me with open arms. You’ve been very kind to me; in return, I promise to bust my hump to provide you with the best coverage possible.

Golden Knights News

Las Vegas is one of the greatest cities in the world. From the constant entertainment to the wealth of great food, everyone loves Sin City. Of course, that isn’t the reason why players want to join the Golden Knights. The winning pedigree draws players in, but that’s not the only reason that the Golden Knights are a destination team.

The Athletic ($): The Athletic staff came together to grade every team’s Free Agency thus far. After acquiring Mitch Marner, could the Golden Knights earn anything other than an A+?

NHL News, Rumors, & National Hockey Now

SDPN: This Free Agency crop doesn’t boast much of a goaltending market. Allan Walsh said just that on the newest episode of Agent Provocateur, revealing that five different teams called him inquiring about Marc-André Fleury. The Hall of Fame goaltender is still happily retired… for now.

Sportsnet: Contract disputes are never easy, and when it comes to Restricted Free Agents, things get even more complicated. This year, 11 RFAs filed for arbitration, including Gabe Vilardi and Nick Robertson.

Toronto Sun: Without Mitch Marner, the Toronto Maple Leafs need more top-six offensive firepower. And right now, there’s a lot of smoke surrounding former-Maple Leaf Nazem Kadri.

The Athletic ($): The Carolina Hurricanes made two significant additions in the form of Nikolaj Ehlers and K’Andre Miller to improve their lineup. But can it get them over the hump? Is it enough to finally get past the Florida Panthers?

New York Islanders Hockey Now: The Islanders have kept themselves busy ever since winning the Draft Lottery. After several trades and a slam-dunk Free Agency, their forward group has a new look heading into next season.

Florida Hockey Now: From Oliver Ekman-Larsson to Nate Schmidt, the Panthers have made a killing by signing cheap defensemen and reviving their careers. Now, it seems that they’ve found their next hidden gem reclamation project.
