Golden Knights Trade Rumors
BREAKING: Golden Knights Trade Nic Hague’s Rights to Predators

On Sunday, the Vegas Golden Knights traded RFA Nic Hague and a conditional third-round pick to the Nashville Predators. In exchange, the Golden Knights received defenseman Jeremy Lauzon, and forward Colton Sissons at 50% retained.
Hague, 26, drafted 34th overall in 2017, was the first Golden Knights draft pick to last with the team. He helped them win the Stanley Cup in 2023, and I’m sure the Golden Knights would’ve liked to keep him. However, the Predators gave Hague a well-deserved raise, signing him to a four-year contract worth $5.5 million per– a much steeper price than the Golden Knights could pay.
Colton Sissons, 31, is in the final year of a seven-year contract worth $2,857,143 per year; at 50% retained, his cap hit is $1,428,527 million. He’s scored 95 goals and 221 points over 690 career NHL games.
Sissons, a right shot, is a 6’1” bottom-six forward. He struggled to finish last season but is typically good for 10-15 goals per season. He’s a decent playmaker, but he’s much better defensively than he is at creating offense.
Jeremy Lauzon, a 28-year-old left shot, is in the final year of a four-year contract at $2 million per. He’s played 316 NHL games over his seven-year career, with 14 goals and 45 career points.
On a third defensive pairing, Lauzon produces good defensive metrics. He’s not a very good puck mover, so don’t expect much offense out of him. But that’s not what he’s known for– no, he’s known for being one tough customer.
Lauzon stands at 6’3”– three inches shorter than Hague, but perhaps meaner. He was fifth on the team in hits despite playing just 28 games, averaging 4.54 hits per game. He’s unafraid to drop the gloves to stand up for a teammate, although he usually loses the ensuing fight.
In a sheltered role, he’ll be a fine replacement for Nic Hague.
Sissons, on the other hand, is an interesting addition. With the Toronto Maple Leafs allegedly strong-arming the Golden Knights into trading for Mitch Marner’s rights, Sissons could be a Nic Roy replacement.
