The Vegas Golden Knights lost to the Los Angeles Kings on Monday, complicating the Pacific Division even further. Elsewhere in the Daily Nuggets, suspensions, rumors, and trades, oh my! One suspension is reduced, and another is handed out. Could Seth Jones be on the move? Could Erik Karlsson? Could Brad Marchand? There are many questions, but thankfully, the trade deadline is less than two weeks away.

Golden Knights News

On Monday, the Golden Knights entered the third period with a lead but allowed four unanswered goals to the Los Angeles Kings and lost 5-2.

The race for the Pacific Division title gets even more interesting. The Golden Knights have 74 points in 58 games; the Edmonton Oilers have 72 in 57. With their win last night, the Los Angeles Kings have 69 points in 55 games. The Golden Knights have the tiebreaker over the Oilers but not the Kings. This could be a real photo finish.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now

32 Thoughts: If you donโ€™t listen to Elliotte Friedmanโ€™s 32 Thoughts podcast, youโ€™re missing out on all the good gossip. Hereโ€™s a recap of Mondayโ€™s episode:

Seth Jones hasnโ€™t given the Chicago Blackhawks a list of teams, but he wants to go to a contender. If they canโ€™t find a match, the Blackhawks have no problem keeping Jones. Pivoting to Erik Karlsson, his talents were on full display at the 4 Nations Face-Off. Karlssonโ€™s cap hit goes down this summer after his bonuses are paid, so the Pittsburgh Penguins should be able to move him. On the topicโ€ฆ

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Heโ€™s 34, but Erik Karlssonโ€™s still got it. Time is running out for the three-time Norris Trophy winner to chase a Stanley Cup. The Penguins certainly wonโ€™t be doing that. For the sake of both parties, the Penguins need to trade Karlsson.

Detroit Hockey Now: During Sundayโ€™s game, Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras threw a late, high hit on Michael Rasmussen, knocking the Red Wings winger out of the game. The hit went unpenalized but not unnoticed; the NHLโ€™s Department of Player Safety suspended Zegras for three games.

Detroit Hockey Now: Trade alert! The Red Wings sent goaltender Ville Husso to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for future considerations.

Boston Hockey Now: With the trade deadline approaching, all eyes turn to the Bruins and their unrestricted free agents. Could they trade Brad Marchand?

Sportsnet: NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman reduced Ryan Hartmanโ€™s suspension from ten games to eight.
