Golden Knights - Canucks Gameday Graphic HOME

The Vegas Golden Knights (33-17-6) are finally back in action after a two-week break for the 4 Nations Face-Off Tournament. They’ve won their last two games against the New Jersey Devils and the Boston Bruins and look to continue their winning ways. They’ll host the injury-ridden Vancouver Canucks (26-18-11) today at T-Mobile Arena.

The puck drops just after 7 p.m.

After a January to forget that bled into early February, the Golden Knights righted the ship in their last two games. They stifled the New Jersey Devils on February 6th and held the high-flying offense to just 16 shots on goal. The Golden Knights stumbled early against the Boston Bruins on February 8th, but a late powerplay goal from Tomáš Hertl propelled them to a regulation win.

The Vancouver Canucks won their last three games before the break, including a shutout win over the Colorado Avalanche. However, they’ll be without starting goaltender Thatcher Demko, who is week-to-week with a lower-body injury. It looks like Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson will also be out of the lineup.

Adin Hill gets the start in net. He has a record of 2-3-0 and an average save percentage of .919 in five career games against the Canucks.

With Thatcher Demko out, the Canucks will probably look to Kevin Lankinen. Lankinen has a record of 3-1-2 and an average save percentage of .891 in six career games against the Golden Knights.

Game Notes

Tonight will be the second meeting between the Golden Knights and the Canucks this season. The Golden Knights took the first matchup by a score of 3-1 and are 15-4-3 against the Canucks all-time.

Jack Eichel is coming off a strong showing in the 4 Nations Face-Off Tournament, where he had four assists in four games. He has six goals and 15 assists in 20 career games against the Canucks.

With Shea Theodore out, look for Alex Pietrangelo to quarterback the top powerplay unit. Pietrangelo has eight goals and 19 assists in 41 games against the Canucks.

The Canucks lineup is weakened due to injuries, but the ever-dangerous Brock Boeser is healthy. Boeser has seven goals and nine assists in 17 career games against the Golden Knights.

This is the Golden Knights’ first game at the Fortress since January 30th. They haven’t won a game at home since a 4-1 win over the Florida Panthers on January 26th.

The Golden Knights have a record of 19-6-3 at home this season; the Canucks are 15-8-4 on the road.
