Remember yesterday when the Golden Knights were on a four-game losing skid? Everyone was pressing the panic button, and all hope was lost. Well, the Golden Knights won big last night in New Jersey to snap their losing streak. I don’t know if everything is golden– ha, get it?– but things sure look better than they did 12-ish hours ago. They did, however, miss out on a trade candidate that Kelly McCrimmon was seemingly high on. Elsewhere in the Daily Nuggets, the Russian machine never breaks, and Alex Ovechkin keeps chugging away on his great chase. National broadcasters have been none too kind to Connor Bedard, and the young phenom finally responded.

Golden Knights News

Last night, the Golden Knights broke out of what head coach Bruce Cassidy called an “offensive slumber” with a big win against the New Jersey Devils. They played Golden Knights hockey. Their win didn’t look like a fluke; it’s the type of win that a team can build off of.

The Edmonton Oilers are still ahead of the Golden Knights by two points; they also have a game in hand. But it’s a long season, and last night’s win stopped the bleeding.

The Golden Knights had their eye on a trade candidate, but a rival team beat them to the punch.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now

Sportsnet: If this feels like a repeat, that’s because it is, kind of. Alex Ovechkin has scored in four straight games and is just 16 goals away from Wayne Gretzky’s record.

Chicago Hockey Now: Connor Bedard has been facing some criticism from national broadcast analysts– most recently, TNT’s Paul Bissonnette, who called his style of play “pond hockey.” Here’s what Bedard had to say in response.

New York Islanders Hockey Now: The Islanders are in the playoff hunt, but their powerplay is dead last in the league. Could Trevor Zegras help with that?

NHL History: On February 7th, 1976, Darryl Sittler set a record for the most offensive production in a single game with six goals and four assists.
