Vegas Golden Knights Dallas Stars

The Vegas Golden Knights (31-15-4) put together a complete effort against the Florida Panthers on Sunday for their third win in ten games. Tonight, they’ll look to string together consecutive wins for the first time since January 7th. The Golden Knights will host the Dallas Stars (31-17-1) tonight at T-Mobile Arena.

The Golden Knights broke through on Sunday and allowed just one goal against a top-ten team in scoring. Adin Hill played one of his best games on the season and stopped 33 of the 34 shots he faced. The Golden Knights won, 4-1.

On Saturday, the Stars visited the St. Louis Blues. Despite getting outshot 33-19, the Stars won 2-0, and Casey DeSmith recorded his second shutout of the season.

Sunday marked the first time in 14 games that a Golden Knights goaltender started two consecutive games. Adin Hill was the first goaltender off the ice at morning skate, so it seems like Bruce Cassidy is riding the hot hand. Hill has a 3-4-0 record and an average save percentage of .914 in seven career games against the Stars.

Stars backup Casey DeSmith played on Saturday, so I bet we’ll see Jake Oettinger again. Oettinger has a 5-2-2 record and an average save percentage of .920 in nine career games against the Golden Knights.

Game Notes

The Golden Knights are 12-4-3 all-time against the Stars. This is their third and final meeting this year, and it will decide who takes the season series.

Last game, Nic Roy passed up an empty net so that Tomáš Hertl could extend his point streak. It’s now a career-high at nine games. Hertl has seven goals and six assists over that stretch.

Jack Eichel scored twice when the Golden Knights and Stars last played on Friday. He has seven goals and six assists in 17 career games against the Stars.

This is the last Western Conference team the Golden Knights will see for almost a month; their next five games before the break are against Eastern Conference teams.

The Golden Knights have been very good at home this season, with a record of 19-6-1 at the Fortress. The Stars are 13-10-0 on the road.
