Former Golden Knights Emergency Goalie Signs PTO
Remember Dylan Ferguson?
The former Vegas Golden Knights emergency goalie, who made one appearance in the inaugural season when he was 19, has kicked around the American Hockey League and played last season in the KHL signed a professional tryout agreement with the Vancouver Canucks Sunday.
The Golden Knights acquired Ferguson two days after the Dallas Stars drafted him in the seventh round of the 2019 NHL Draft. You may recall the extraordinary spate of injuries that befell the Golden Knights that season. Several goalies, beginning with Marc-Andre Fleury and extending through depth goalie Oscar Dansk, were injured. The Golden Knights were forced to recall Ferguson from his juniors team, the Kamloops Blazers, on an emergency basis.
On Nov. 14, the Golden Knights and then-coach Gerard Gallant thrust Ferguson into a game against the Edmonton Oilers in relief of struggling Maxime Legace. Ferguson stopped one of two shots in nine minutes of action.
Last season, Ferguson posted a .904 save percentage in 23 games with the Minsk Dynamo. He also played two games for the Ottawa Senators in the 2022-23 NHL season.
