Vegas Golden Knights Game 4, Edmonton Oilers

The Vegas Golden Knights have six of their eight games in the 2023 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, and they can figuratively put their boot on the Edmonton Oilers’ throat Wednesday in Game 4 at Rogers Place.

The puck drops just after 7 p.m. The Golden Knights lead the series 2-1.

They put on a clinic against the Edmonton Oilers in Game 3. The Golden Knights didn’t yield a power play of significant length until well after the game was decided. The Golden Knight’s forecheck created turnovers. Their backcheck kept pressure on Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl and remarkably kept them off the scoreboard.

And backup goalie Adin Hill stopped all 24 shots in relief of injured starter Laurent Brossoit.

Can’t score on the power play if you don’t get any.

Oilers goalie Stuart Skinner was replaced in the second period by Jack Campbell. In the Round One series against the LA Kings, coach Jay Woodcroft did the same and returned to Skinner for the next game.

Jack Eichel was a dominant player with three points in Game 3 (1-2-3). Jonathan Marchessault scored a pair of goals. Zach Whitecloud and Chandler Stephenson also scored.

Skinner is confirmed to start for Edmonton. Hill will start for the Golden Knights.

Vegas Golden Knights Game Notes:

In Game 3, Jonathan Marchessault scored for the first time this postseason. His two goals were the fifth multi-goal game in his playoff career.

Game 3 was Adin Hill’s first career playoff win.

Eichel’s multiple three-point games in these Stanley Cup playoffs make him the third Vegas player to do so in a single playoff run, joining Mark Stone (2 in 2023) and Jonathan Marchessault (2 in 2018).

The Golden Knights have four or more goals in six of their eight playoff games.

Oddsmakers continue to undersell the 6.5 Over (+110). We continue to think it’s a better bet than not, even though two of three games have just missed. So, we’re going to take it.

The Golden Knights are a whopping +155 on the Moneyline. That’s a HUGE underdog in this situation. All arrows point to an Oilers rebound, just as Dallas did in Game 4 against Seattle, but we really like this Golden Knights team. Here’s an idea — get your $150 DraftKings promo and go nuts with house money on those odds.
