Vegas Golden Knights goalie Laurent Brossoit injured in Game 3 vs. Edmonton Oilers

Vegas Golden Knights goalie Laurent Brossoit had an eventful game, though it lasted barely more than five minutes.

Early in Game 3 against the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place, Brossoit allowed a soft goal when he remained too deep in the crease, and Warren Foegele deflected a pass into the net.

A couple of minutes later, Brossoit made a sparkling kick save on Connor McDavid’s wrister from the right-wing circle. However, as Brossoit attempted to slide to his right to make the next save, the goalie was clearly injured.

Brossoit, 30, dropped his stick and buried his head on the ice. Officials immediately stopped play at 5:16. Brossoit had to be helped off the ice and went to the locker room with a pronounced limp.

Backup goalie Adin Hill replaced Brossoit for the remainder of the period. Under new NHL rules, third goalie Jonathan Quick can back-up Hill and play if necessary.
