The Vegas Golden Knights have assigned goaltender Adin Hill to the Henderson Silver Knights on a conditioning stint. The 26-year-old goaltender is currently recovering from a lower-body injury that has kept him out of the lineup since March 8th.
Hill was seen Thursday morning at City National Arena skating on the other rink with also injured goaltender Logan Thompson. Laurent Brossoit and Jonathan Quick are the Golden Knight's current goaltending tandem, with three games left in the regular season.
The Silver Knights, who will not make the Calder Cup Playoffs, have just five games remaining in the season. This move allows Hill to condition himself as the Silver Knight's starter for a couple of games before he can make the potential jump back up to the NHL. Brossoit had this happen to him earlier this season.
The Golden Knights are in a unique situation with four NHL-capable goaltenders on their current roster. Two of them, Hill and Thompson, are currently injured. Head coach Bruce Cassidy and the rest of the VGK coaching staff will have plenty of options for picking who can be the Game 1 starter for the playoffs.
