The Vegas Golden Knights couldn't get their game going for the majority of their Tuesday night game against the Florida Panthers and lost 2-1. The offense struggled to find consistent looks, and the defense gave up many chances in the slot. But Adin Hill once again put together a strong game.

The VGK will now travel to Tampa Bay to continue their five-game road trip out East. They will play the Lightning on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.

Here's what head coach Bruce Cassidy, forward Reilly Smith, and defenseman Shea Theodore had to say after the loss.

Shea Theodore—

On the overall game

"I think we just weren't ready to start the game. That's kind of what came back to bite us. I thought we played great in the second and the third but you definitely need better starts down the stretch here."

On giving up slot chances.

"I think we just have to take a look at some of our D-zone positioning. Obviously going into they have a lot of highly-skilled players that love to shoot from the middle."

Reilly Smith—

On the overall game.

"I thought we turned the puck over too many times and when we did have opportunities we didn't capitalize."

On Adin Hill

"He did an awesome job. I think we gave up more slot shots than any other game this year, so he did a great job at keeping it at two. We have to do a better job collapsing in front."

Bruce Cassidy—

On what the biggest factor in their loss was.

"Probably our start, even though we got out of it thanks to Adin (Hill). It was like Jersey again, we didn't protect the slot, we didn't execute on our breakouts and he held us in."

"I thought we chased the game the whole night, and never caught up to it."

On shuffling up line combinations, D-pairs, and sitting players like Brett Howden, Paul Cotter, and Phil Kessel in the third.

"We've won some hockey games, so you don't want to mix too much up. But I think some individuals need a change of scenery for a lack of better term with linemates."

On the powerplay.

"I thought the powerplay, that's the most we have had on it since probably San Jose. I thought we generated some good looks, you don't get a lot of quantity against Florida, because they are very aggressive, but you can get some quality."
