Time keeps on slipping, into the fuuuuutureee.

The Vegas Golden Knights only have one game left in the calendar year 2022.

2022 wasn't very kind to the Golden Knights in the grand scheme of things. They had tons of injuries, were forced to shed good players for salary cap purposes, and missed the playoffs for the first time in team history. But there were still a ton of cool moments from the VGK in 2022; here are our favorites.

2022 Golden Knights Highlights

Jan 8- Marc-Andre Fleury returned to T-Mobile Arena and to the Vegas Golden Knights for the first time, and Jonathan Marchessault tried not to cry.

Jan 24- Only a shot from Alex Ovechkin can seemingly break metal, but against the Golden Knights and Robin Lehner, that's exactly what happened.

Feb 4- Of course, the 2022 NHL All-Star game was in Las Vegas. Mark Stone, Jonathan Marchessault, Alex Pietrangelo, and Peter DeBoer were all there.

Feb 20- Jack Eichel made his Golden Knights debut in late Winter and scored his first goal as a Knight against the San Jose Sharks.

Mar 6- With just five seconds remaining in regulation, Jack Eichel canceled overtime with a goal against the Ottawa Senators.

Mar 10- It wasn't a kind reunion for Jack Eichel when he visited the Buffalo Sabres. But Eichel had a couple of post-game comments for Sabres fans.

Mar 24- In one of the strangest transactions in NHL history, Evgenii Dadonov had his 2022 trade deadline deal voided by the National Hockey League, which kept him from joining the Anaheim Ducks.

Dadonov fittingly scored three points in his return to the VGK against the Nashville Predators and then scored the overtime winner in an epic comeback game against the Chicago Blackhawks not long after.

Jun 14- Who says the offseason can't have highlights? The Golden Knights hired head coach Bruce Cassidy on this date.

Jun 23- General manager Kelly McCrimmon was able to lock up Reilly Smith for three more years during free agency.

Aug 19- The Golden Knights did not make many trades in 2022, but one of them was to acquire Adin Hill from the San Jose Sharks.

Sept 27- The development of Paul Cotter was a nice surprise in the early season as the rookie made the team out of camp.

Oct 13- After two seasons of absence, the Golden Knights brought back the Gold Carpet before their first home game of the 2022-23 season. Paul Cotter absolutely stole the show, rocking a fedora. He then fittingly scored against the Chicago Blackhawks during the game in a 1-0 VGK win.

Oct 25- New member of the Golden Knights, Phil Kessel, celebrated a few milestones in the fall. He became the NHL's new Ironman playing in his 989-straight game against the San Jose Sharks in late October. He also fittingly scored in that game, his 400th career NHL goal.

Nov 10- After another not-so-welcome return to Buffalo, NY. Jack Eichel torched his former team with a four-point third period in mid-November.

Nov 26- The Golden Knights introduced their 2022-23 glow-in-the-dark reverse retro jerseys against the Vancouver Canucks.

Nov 28- Logan Thompson knew exactly who the Golden Knights should go to as he pointed to Paul Cotter, who fittingly won the game in the shootout.

Dec 23- The most recent iteration on this list, captain Mark Stone called game for the VGK against the St. Louis Blues, also in a shootout.

Vegas Hockey Now

Shamelessly asking for attention here- This year was a big one in terms of my life. I came out to cover the team in Las Vegas during my senior year Christmas Break; I then got to cover the team in Buffalo, Pittsburgh, and Columbus. I graduated from college, moved to Nevada, and am now doing this full-time.

I want to thank everyone for their support during this journey. It is far from finished, and I look forward to covering the rest of the season with you.

Here's to 2023!
