Vegas Hockey Now is taking a major step forward in our coverage of the Vegas Golden Knights. Our daily coverage from practice, games, and in-depth analysis now has a new face–Steve Carp!

Hi everyone:

Welcome to Vegas Hockey Now, the site for all your information on the Vegas Golden Knights, the Henderson Silver Knights and the NHL.

If you’ve followed the Golden Knights, you are probably familiar with my work. I was the beat writer for the team during its inaugural season for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and for the last three years, I have been writing a weekly column for SinBin.Vegas. In addition, you may have heard me on the radio locally as a weekly guest on Vegas Hockey Hotline.

I have been in Las Vegas since 1988 and have actively covered hockey in the valley during that time, going back to the Thunder of the IHL and the Wranglers of the ECHL. I also played the game growing up in New York and have followed the NHL from its Original Six days as a Rangers fan, then later, rooting for the Islanders when they came into existence in 1972. So my heart is deeply rooted in the game.

My hope is to build the VHN brand, provide informative, timely and entertaining content and be your conduit to the team — players, coaches and management. I have built lasting relationships with the organization, which will help me provide keen insight into the inner workings of the Vegas Golden Knights and give you a special connection to the team.

We will be at all home games, and with your help, we will be with the team on the road. To that end, I invite you to support that enterprise. Hopefully, it will enhance coverage of the Vegas Golden Knights and make your subscriptions that much more valuable.

And speaking of subscriptions, I hope you will join me in this endeavor by signing up. There are a variety of options and today we have special discounts for you to join. Without your help, we will not be able to exist. So please sign up. Think of it as one or two fewer visits to Starbucks and getting great content throughout the season, so when you do get that coffee, you have something to read while you sip.

For those of you who own businesses and would like to sponsor Vegas Hockey Now, we have some attractive opportunities at reasonable prices for you to get the word out about your company. We are a national site and a local one, so the exposure you will receive will result in an increase in your business, which is why advertising exists.

Please follow us on Twitter — @vegashockeynow — as well as Facebook. I’ll be tweeting from practices and the games and it’s a great way for us to connect and interact.

I want to thank the President of NHN, Pittsburgh Hockey Now’s Dan Kingerski for this opportunity. I had been approached previously but I was unable to accept due to conflicts with my previous job. But the timing worked out this time around and I’m excited to get going and cover a team that many believe are contenders for the Stanley Cup. I’m also looking forward to joining a team of talented hockey journalists on the National Hockey Now network — George Richards in Florida, Joe Haggerty in Boston, Kevin Allen in Detroit, Shelly Anderson in Pittsburgh, Sheng Peng in San Jose, Adrian Dater in Colorado, Christian Arnold on Long Island, Sammi Silber in Washington, Rob Simpson in Vancouver, and Ryan Gilbert in Philadelphia.

I hope you will join me in taking this journey with the Golden Knights, and thanks in advance for your support of me and my work.

Regards,

Steve Carp
