Vegas Trade Talk
Stastny Traded to Winnipeg

The Vegas Golden Knights have agreed to a deal that sends Paul Stastny to the Winnipeg Jets for Carl Dahlstrom and a 4th round pick in 2022.
The most important and immediate effect is the removal of Stastny’s last year of his $6.5M AAV deal from the VGK cap. It helps them free up more money to go after a big free agent signing like Alex Pietrangelo or similar. It has been speculated that Pietrangelo is looking for a deal around $9M AAV, and the max term the Golden Knights or any team could offer is seven years.
The NHL’s 2020 free agency period opens today at noon ET.
